ari b. cofer (she/they) is a poet, novelist, screenwriter, and author of paper girl and the knives that made her (Central Avenue Publishing, 2022) and unfold: poetry and prose (Central Avenue Publishing, 2023). ari holds a BA in Professional Writing from Baylor University and is set to receive her MFA in Creative Writing, Poetry from Randolph College in January 2025, where she has received mentorship from Pulitzer finalist Jos Charles, and widely-acclaimed poets Danez Smith, Diana Khoi Nguyen, and Andrés Cerpa. She is currently seeking representation for her debut novel, What About Frankie?
Originally from Texas and Oklahoma, ari, her husband, and their two pets currently reside in the Pacific Northwest. ari’s work has amassed millions of views and has curated an engaged audience of over 70k followers across social media platforms, in addition to receiving features on sites such as Buzzfeed and TheMighty. Her writing primarily focuses on mental health advocacy, her experiences as a queer, Black woman, and love.
